Hello folks! As you may or may not have noticed, our activity on Substack has been non-existent over the past few months. Normally when something like this happens I’d have to come up with an excuse, but this time I have an actual reason—I’m proud to announce that the very first issue Ridgeline Magazine printed in early November! Putting together a magazine is no easy feat, and my attention has been fully focused on making sure everything went as well as it could. 1500 physical copies were printed, and I’ve spent every weekend since traveling the region and dropping them off at outdoor gear stores, climbing walls, and book shops where customers can pick one up, free of charge. The print exceeded my expectations, and I managed to only miss a few typos! Not too bad for a one-man-show. Thanks to a team of amazing writers and photographers, we’ve put together something truly special for the outdoorspeople of the Southern Willamette Valley in Oregon.
If you’re a paid subscriber here, I’d like to take his opportunity to let you know that moving forward my focus will be on the creation of Ridgeline. What you’ll find on here are stories written by me, the editor, long before they find their place inside a future issue. I cannot guarantee the amount of content I’ll be adding consistently, but you can expect to see several stories each season. I truly appreciate your support and if you’d like to continue being a paid subscriber I thank you. Please know that your contributions are going directly to the creation of the magazine. If you’d rather move to a free subscription and use that money to support Ridgeline in other ways, like ordering a copy on our website, I totally understand.
Alongside the print, we’ve uploaded all the content to our website. To view the stories written by our team for the winter issue, you can head over to ridgelinemagazine.com where you’ll find them in a blog-style format. I’ll also be using a digital magazine publisher to recreate the magazine online soon. If you’re in the US and like what you see, feel free to order a copy of Ridgeline and we’ll mail it right to your door. Either way, you can still expect to see my stories arrive here as they’re created. Thanks to everyone who took a little time to read my stories here, and for helping me make a dream a reality. See you outside!
Congrats! Looking forward to seeing what you still put out here.
